ABOUT LEO ACADEMY

Our History

In 2011, a woman named Martha posted an ad online looking for someone who was experienced in childcare. She was desperate to provide her children with quality child care in the local area. She had an idea to create a small in-home childcare center in an effort to boycott the other local child care centers. I answered her ad and set up an interview. Once Martha and myself began talking, I completely understood her frustrations about how hard it was to find a quality center for her boys. She always felt that these big centers were cold, uncomfortable, unsanitary, and the teachers always seemed overwhelmed and unhappy. At first Martha Lavigne's Childcare had an enrollment of 3 children, but In a matter of 2 years we were at full capacity and the whole neighborhood knew of what we created! In early 2013, Martha informed me that her family needed to relocate out of state. Of course my heart sank, mainly because I was finally happy doing something that I absolutely loved. The relationships that we had formed between the children and families was something I did not want to lose. Apparently, the parents of the children that were enrolled felt the same way! The parents banded together to try and find a solution.  This is where John and Rebecca stepped in. We opened across the street in May of 2013 and have continued to grow enrollment! Due to the high demand of families searching for a childcare center that provided children with a clean, healthy, safe and comforting environment where learning took precedence, it was time for an expansion!
